Welcome to Tyrus Books's ebook page! We're very excited to be offering ebook downloads direct, and we hope that in addition to our fine paper books, you'll consider our fine electronic versions.
A few quick FAQs:
1. Will your ebook downloads work on my Kindle/Sony Reader/iPhone/iPad/computer/etc?
Yes! Our ebook downloads are actually a package of THREE file formats: .mobi, .epub, and .pdf. We're packaging the files this way because those are the three most used formats in ereaders -- so chances are, no matter what reader you use, if you buy from us, you're covered!
2. How do I know what format to use for my reader?
For the most part, the .mobi file will be the best format for a Kindle. The .epub can be read by most every other ereader. If you prefer to read on your computer using Adobe Reader, we'd suggest the .pdf.
3. How do I load the file onto my reader?
You could use the software that came with your device, or a free program like Calibre.
4. How will I get the files once I make a purchase?
Once your transaction is complete, you'll be redirected to a download page. You'll also receive an email confirming your purchase, with a link to that same download page in case the redirect doesn't work (but it will!).
5. What if I have a problem?
Email us here! Please include "Ebook Issue" in your subject line, so we can address the problem swiftly.
6. If I like the ebook a lot and want to buy a paper copy for my library, do I get a discount?
You sure do! Email us and we'll give you a $5 discount on the hardcover, or a $3 discount on the paperback of the title you already purchased as an ebook. (Note: This only applies to customers who bought the ebook direct from us.)
7. Will all your titles be available as ebooks?
Maybe! We're working on converting all the titles we can, and we'll keep you updated on our blog and through out Twitter feed when we have new ebook titles available. It takes a bit of time, since we're doing it ourselves, but we'll get there!

The Deputy by Victor Gischler - $9.99
Coyote Crossing is a dusty little shithole town in western Oklahoma. A sleepy little pit stop for truckers, not a lot going on. So a dead body in the middle of the street at midnight is quite an event. The chief of police wants all hands on deck, so he calls Toby Sawyer to come babysit the body.
Toby doesn’t have a lot going for him. Twenty-five, a couple of years of junior college, married to a girl he got pregnant and living in a trailer on the edge of town. He’s working part time for the police department, hoping the budget comes through and they can put him on full time, so he can get health benefits. His wife is a waitress at a little crap diner near the railroad tracks. When he gets the call about the dead body, he pins his tin star to his Weezer t-shirt, slips into a pair of sweatpants and grabs his revolver.
